How To Change Greeting On A E71

JPA, sequences (non-ID) and Oracle

To access a stateless session bean to a POJO (SLSB), it is no way the session bean via @ EJB annotation to inject a la. The injection works only with managed classes (Session Beans or Servlets, for example). There
similar problems also occur with a "managed" JSF Managed Bean (JSF2.0 when using the View-Scopes (@ view scoped) and the annotation @ EJB).

This further helps the Service Locator pattern (see
http://mr678.blogspot.com/2008/10/ejb3-und-servicelocator.html

). With the help of this pattern is a session bean locates.
In my applications, I would often use by local interface within the same application (WAR or EAR file) a SLSB. So far, access via JNDI to various app servers was different. The thing that bothered me so far because I use the name of the EAR file is encoded always hard.
The JEE6 Spec (EJB3.1) there is only one standardized access. Http://blogs.sun.com/MaheshKannan details on this in a blog by Mahesh Kannan of sun (see / entry / portable_global_jndi_names

) Abstract:

accessed within the same application is as follows:

EAR File: java: app / \u0026lt;module-name> / \u0026lt;bean-name>! \u0026lt;fully-qualified-intf-name> or WAR File: java: modules / \u0026lt;bean-name> \u0026lt;fully-qualified-intf-name>

After I currently small application on the AppServer only build a WAR module, require . If, in this case, no hard-coded modules or application with more

(Adam Bien has this very interesting blog entries on the subject applications as a WAR Module Deploying; http://www.adam-bien .com/roller/abien/entry/is_java_ee_6_war ; http://www.adam-bien.com/roller/abien/entry/java_ee_6_kills_the )

for my service locator class to access on SLSBs within my WAR file therefore looks quite simply:

@SuppressWarnings( "unchecked" )

public static
<T> T getService(Class<T> clazz) {

try
{   InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();

String lookupPath =
"java:module/"
           + clazz.getSimpleName()             + "!" + clazz.getName();

  return
(T) ctx.lookup(lookupPath);

} catch
(NamingException e) {   throw new
ServiceLocatorException(e);   }

Itchy Breast Broken Blood Vessel

The giant among the little ones (part 2)

After I tried the first part, the influence that Theo Gilbert with his pigeons for more than four decades on the pigeon racing had to present, I would now like to highlight the really interesting question: How has
Theo Gilbert can do all this? As he has acted as a breeder?

Almost 25 years after the death of Theo Gilbert, this is of course an almost impossible task, especially Theo Gilbert was one must be very publicity-shy breeders. In the prospectus to its total sales in 1985, says the son Theo Gilbert, Georges Himpe that there are only three traditional interviews about Theo Gilbert, the first of 1961, the last in 1983.

Man this must first leave act: A Breeders of this outstanding class and there are only three interviews in over 40 years of successful pigeon sport! At that time, already extremely unusual, but today probably almost unthinkable! The three interviews I have unfortunately not been available, but according to the prospectus of the total auction, they all agreed, would be that the small colony of Theo Gilbert of unparalleled class, and that there were many national Cracks and super-pigeons, which fell to Theo Gilbert . This indeed confirms our assessment of the breeding performance Gilberts, but helps us in analyzing its breeding strategy, unfortunately, very little.

Thanks Georget paperboard me, however, The complete prospectus of the total auction before, the occasion was held on 25/11/1985 of the death of Theo Gilbert Beervelde. Particularly valuable are its information, therefore, stood in this prospectus all 45 animals
Theo Gilbert for sale (including all the youngsters was his stock is not actually bigger!) And are listed, including a description of the pigeons and their origins were. This gives us a snapshot of the overall population of Theo Gilbert in 1985, which permits some informed insights into the action in the Gilbert farm. While it can not be assumed that a breeder who over such a long period with similar abundance until his death celebrated great successes, its methodology has changed frequently or abruptly, can Much of what follows now only be a plausible assumption.

The structure of the stock
26 pigeons of a total of 45 animals were juveniles of 1985, thus just under 60% of the stock. This suggests the way near a winter population of only about 20 animals! He also had 10 years of pigeons of the vintage '84. Altogether, only 9 animals and 20% of the stock of Theo Gilbert were two years old and older. These 9 animals had a median age of about just over four years, with a 9-year-old bird is the oldest animal. Together with the 10 year old deaf adult animals thus had an average age of almost three years.

to the pictures:
The image in Part 1 Theo Gilbert shows at the age of 89.

The image in part 2 above shows the parents of the "Rapido", the "Cupid" and "Panther", "the", 2 "called

The picture on the left shows the derivation of the" Panther "(by a click It appears in full size)

The picture below shows a descendant of ", 2" to blow my full seven generations later!

The breeding pairs
It seems that Theo Gilbert preferably at least in recent years, playing with pigeons and doves year. All animals traveled declined to only six pairs, which I explain below:

pair 1 was formed from the "Oude Zwarte Witpen" with the ring number 3044618/76 and "Geschelpte Vanhoutteduivin" with the ring number 3391477/79 . The bird was the oldest pigeon on the blow came from Gilbert and his "old type", whatever that may mean this. The female, however, was an imported pigeon. She came from two very successful breeder of animals Georges Vanhoutte from Waregem, which lies about three miles from Zulte away and was not related to the animals by Gilbert.
The "pair 1" was less the base pairs found in 1985 inventory because there were a total of 8 children of this couple in stock (more than 1/6tel of the stock), of which three children were used for breeding, so that also in 1985 a total of 23 grandson of this pair were in stock. This pair is also a lot of very good racing pigeons have brought

pair 2
The Bird "Gouden Zwarte sproetduiver" with the number 3354254 / 80 and the hen "Zwart bonte Duivin" with the number 3354256 / 80 made this pair, which in the early 80s belgienweit created a stir. They are the parents of the "Rapido" of the "Cupid", the "Panther", which at the date of the auction since a few years on the beat of Verstraete. But also high even Theo Gilbert assesses this pair, we see from the fact that a total of 15 children of this pair (ie 1/3tel of the inventory) were sitting on his stroke. Of this he took two children and also have a grandson of the couple for breeding, thirteen children of this couple, he was using to price flights!
The bird of the pair was a direct son of "pair 1". The mother was again his "old type" and probably was a daughter of a "Kampjoentje v. 72," suggesting that at least her father was a very good flyer itself.

pair 3
This is a pairing of "foreign" x "pair 1"
There are four young birds as the only descendants of this couple were in stock.

pair 4
This was a mating ", 2" x "(old variety x external)"
There were the only descendants of three young pigeons in stock

pair 5
was here "foreign" x ", 2" mated. There were also three young birds as the only descendants of the stock

pair 6
where he paired niece of Uncle namely "pair 1" x ", 2". This, incidentally, was the closest pair he carried out. For this couple, five juveniles were the only descendants of the portfolio.

Interpretation
This, then, the entire contents of Theo Gilbert in 1985. The following things are on closer examination of its existence and the descriptive texts in the sales program remarkable

- Its winter population was probably only about 20 animals!

- thus he bred annually in relation to its small inventory thoroughly and kept roughly 1/3tel this young after the season. In a particularly beautiful animal from his best pair he made, however, already an exception, and tested it even directly in the discipline, without previously tested for the trip

- Theo Gilbert concentrated per generation interval (I mean every three years because the average age of its adult animals even about three years was) only to just one breeding pair! Its Progeny had to be not just good or very good, but outstanding! Just as it was at "a couple" late 70's the case, and again from 1982 ", 2", which probably has since been his primary breeding pair.

- This primary breeding pair he bred each case very thoroughly. These offspring had obvious priority over all other breeding pairs. It gave him no concern that even a third of its stock direct offspring of this pair was. For it was just to be absolutely the best breeding pair!

- this best breeding pairs were not separated and remained together until old age. From a six-year-old female and a nine-year Bird he drew more extensively.

- children of his tribe he mated pair then imported non-related animals or animals that a pairing of "own brand" x came from "foreign". Where "own brand" here means a direct relative of the parents of the couple's master, so that this animal is not attributable entirely to fed pigeons.

- He took nearly a year in foreign dove from the outside, which was not related to its variety, however, had first-class quality. This means a very good travel animal or a direct child of such first-class travel animals.

- These various imported pigeons were not related to each other.

- imported Pigeons were tested in breeding two, maximum three years and moved here a year three to four pups.

-The best intersection so drawn animal was allowed to remain in existence and has now zurückgepaart in their own variety (eg children or grandchildren of the parent pair). An imported animal was allowed to remain only if the offspring was very very good.

- Altogether, there were only three imported animals and three animals crossing the F1 generation in its portfolio. The rest of the stock went right back to the base pair, or previous generations of their own species.

- This procedure was an uncle x niece mating, the closest possible mating. An inbreeding coefficient of 12.5% never been exceeded in these circumstances, and this maximum value then occurs only at individual pairings and does not represent the average inbreeding of the stock. By the annual introduction of a foreign Gilbert dove could thus prevent over-four decades and an increasing inbreeding in their small stock. A decrease of the travel service provided by inbreeding depression thus its stock is no risk dar.

- Gilbert same limited the total number of imported animals and animals that emerged in the first generation of these imported animals on very few animals. From which he then looked back in pairing with his variety, a new strain pair.

may this way he could get the basic character of his animals over such a long period of time. For it is striking how similar to that described his pigeons in the 40 years of Piet de Weerd were (large, dark with white feathers, brown eyes, best fitness for the middle distance), and how much this is in the 80 years to the service providers Gilbert was true of the blow. This becomes clear when we look at the picture of the couple's 2 "and the image of the 'Panther'. There are also dark, almost black pigeons, which had in addition a few white feathers on the head or check individual feathers. The Gilberttäubin Michel Nachtergaele said to have been a black hen and her best Son (also black) was given the name "Witterugge" (white-backed) which also indicates the presence of white feathers.

striking: The Appearance of pigeons by Theo Gilbert
in my blog articles on population genetics, I pointed out that having pigeons forty pairs of chromosomes, and that the performance-supporting properties of the additive effect of a variety are determined by genes that can be spread over many different chromosomes. For this reason it is dangerous from an outward sign of a dove, as for example on their feathers or plumage color drawing performance characteristics close of the dove to do, because such a statement is usually determined by only one gene and is localized to only one of the forty chromosomes. And if gerda on this chromosome is also a localized gene is important for pigeons performance, then more than uncertain.

So for example, been shown that plumage color is "dominant red" generated by a gene located on the male sex chromosome of the dove, a bird of the two and a female has a. But as between birds and females, no significant differences are found in the travel services, and if anything, more likely at the expense of the birds, and also because the breeding services of high quality travel-female returns are not behind those of birds, the male sex chromosome appears therefore fail as a carrier of essential supporting performance additive genes in pigeons (see also here ).

Since a chromosome to be inherited usually as a whole, and sit genes of the chromosome is always on the sex chromosome and on no other chromosome (
mutations once not considered) can, so with the dominant red color of pigeons no relevant performance characteristic are inherited coupled.
Say: For descendants of dominant red birds, it is irrelevant whether the children are also red. You could still all good Characteristics of the animal's parents have, even if they turn out just hammered or blue. is

The pigeons of Theo Gilbert, however, one particularly striking: The ever-present black color, possibly even in combination with white feathers. This combination occurs in the 40 years with his animals again and again. And all this for even pigeons, which arise only the distant offspring of his pigeons, as the figure of a dove on my beat (last picture) here clearly shows.

course, this may be because Theo Gilbert has always made sure that his main breeding line with this type of staining. But Theo Gilbert was a very performance-oriented farmers, as shown by the success of his pigeons. He would certainly have no pigeons left on his stroke, when they would have no power, just because they were black. And as the prospectus shows, he did not even hesitate blue and hammered animals introduced if only true performance.

It was also at Michel Nachtergaele. His Gilberttäubin was dark. The most important children of this hen was dark and the performers who have been featured in the 1956 auction of his youngsters were also returned to the Gilberttäubin and were often dark.
Georget boards sent me all these documents, as his father himself a grandson of the late 50s the "Coppi" introduced by Nachtergaele, who was black. At that time the inventory of his father sat in overwhelming numbers and hammered blue pigeons. The few dark fell on the Nachtergaele-bird, like a sales brochure shows of 1962.
Seventeen years later, 1979 G. and H. Papp auctioned again pigeons. They had very good success vorzuweisen their pigeons were so clearly in the meantime, selected on merit. But now suddenly there were dozens of black and dark-pigeons in stock with very good flight performance and they all went back to the dark bird imported from Nachtergaele!

inherited the black or dark drawing opposite hammered and dominant divalent-blue. This means that the offspring of a dark spalterbig dove to 50% will also be dark. And just as that produced from matings with non-split dark dark drawing the animals can not. What's gone is gone. Thus, this dark drawing in a steady supply of stock in blue and / or hammered animals are slowly outnumbered and eventually disappear even close.

you did not! Neither the existence of Michel Nachtergaele, still held by Theo Gilbert. And the dark drawing even more widespread in the population of G. and H. Papp. All of these breeders, however, were greatly benefit farmers and implement and maintain "non-dark" Animals in their holdings have. Thus, in this particular case, in fact, a coupling of valuable performance characteristics of the "Gilbert-pigeons" with the dark before staining.

Say on the chromosome on which the gene sits this staining, as genes are important (or maybe even one) to see which determine a substantial part of the performance of these animals. Otherwise it can not explain how has kept this dark drawing on some twenty generations of the "Oude Zwarte" Theo Gilbert from the 40s of last century to today. And this, to Jos Vercammen, a breeder who looks at the performance of the animals, and not on the color and since the introduction his "Panter v. 86" almost exclusively different colored animals introduced. Nevertheless, his very best breeding animals from the line of "Panther" are still dark to black and show partly white feathers.

Such a coupling occurs here an easily identifiable external property with power-determining properties is an absolute godsend for the breeder. For in addition to the criteria of selection on flight performance, vitality and behavior, he has thereby an additional criterion that they can use to secure continuation of its power line.
And I'm sure Theo Gilbert has this relationship over the years to use to his advantage known.

must at this point but be warned once again about to generalize this feature of the Gilbert-pigeons. First, this does not mean that all pigeons have subscribed as obscure a good investment, because if they come from another family, the corresponding chromosome could be filled completely different, and so also a negative characteristic for example on the same chromosome are the dark color. On the other hand, there are of course quite possibly the same chromosome without the gene for dark coloration, but with the other for the performance of such positive genes. Also, blue or hammered animals eventually achieve exceptional Services. And the "aware" of Desmet Mathys, for example, was "just" a hammered bird, so it has this chromosome is not well received by his dark mother, but an at least as good from his father, otherwise he would not have become such a formative sire .

to all eternity, a breeder may also be on discovery not of such a coupling, for through a so-called "crossing over", this beautiful package of properties which is sitting there focused on a chromosome, again will be unwrapped (see here). To the continuous breeding test through the basket, so it can not then be waived.

Anyway, I had already written, that is dark to black hammered one of my favorite colors of pigeons?

Moncler Jackets, Woodbury

The giant among the "small" (Part 1)

from breeders that have a very good sire, his offspring flying in stunning results, we all heard it before. Less often is it already the case that the offspring of this sire equal to a number of different ways to shock has brought extraordinary.
But how often have we heard of pigeons, have shaped the whole shots over decades? This is very rare. How many times but in these cases and the same Variety pigeons a handful of national top breeders and even a "race" produced with an international reputation? Well, by now we should already have thought very carefully to find such cases. If we ask then, that the pigeons of this breeder, this feat over a period of more than 40 years, always ready to put, and this active even many years on the career of breeder addition, it strikes us most, only the impact of the Brothers Janssen one. But no later than the following final demand are also the venerable brothers from Arendonk out of the race: The breeder should be a "small", with a portfolio including juveniles of less than 50 animals!

Such a thing does not exist? But! There was this remarkable breed, his name was Theo Gilbert of Zulte.

came little more than a year ago I came into possession of three pigeons a Belgian lace shock, who plays for decades there even at the highest national top level. Since the three pigeons came from the absolute top breeders of this blow, I introduced them, although her appearance I do not really promised so much, for they were hammered very dark to black, or black Check. And this color has never appealed me most. They were also quite large and had chestnut-colored to yellowish-brown eyes. Again, this is when I had a request concert, not one of my favorites among the externals. But the performance of the direct relationship of origin and let me blow on such trivialities like "ignore".

When studying the origin of new acquisitions, I noticed very quickly that they all share several occasions declined to a dust source, which we absolutely can handle as the root name of that Belgian pigeon shock. And this pigeon was the famous "Panther" by Jos Vercammen. He was identified as a grandson of the "Oude Panter v. 81" by now, this is now not difficult to guess: Theo Gilbert.
Actually, it does not interest me what the five or six generations Pedigree of a dove, is the current relationship is crucial to their power density! But the name Theo Gilbert I had already read once. Was not the mother of "clear", the world famous master of Valere Desmet dove from Nokere also a breeder of the same name? Valere Desmet founded on the basis of this "clear" from the mid 40s of last century, his "deaf race" called-Desmet Mathys, that caused a worldwide sensation for several decades.

Could it really be? The same breeder at a distance of more than 40 years, two world-class quasi co-founded colonies, and yet we talk little about him today and find hardly productive Information about him? I wanted to pursue this issue and of course, how is it that succeeded Theo Gilbert, over such a long time such a sweeping pigeons to breed. After some research, and thanks to the help of the Belgian sports friend Georget board (thanks again to this point, Georget) gave to me a clearer picture of this exceptional breeder. Theo Gilbert and what I could find out about his growing method, it more than worthy to be presented at this point.

's start in the 40s. Theo Gilbert had at that time, according to several sources (eg, Piet de Weerd
Rustling wings, p.76 ) A world-class stallions: the "Oude Zwarte. On the Origin of the pigeons by Theo Gilbert can find but little.
Here is the source location is very bad. If, however, de Weerd and Edward Baeten ( "De witte veer" ) be right, it could eventually go back to his pigeons pigeons from Theo Vandevelde, beyond the Gebr.Delombaerde and Vic Biebuyck their way up to Theo Gilbert found. The pigeons of Theo Vandevelde have also made a major part in building up the colonies of Charles Vanderespt and Cattrysse Gebr.

Back to the "Oude Zwarte ' A black daughter of this bird went to Michel Nachtergaele also living in Zulte. From it he drew in quick succession the "Frullen", the "Coppi", the "Witterugge" and a few other absolute Toptauben. These pigeons flown over one million Belgian francs in prize money, while also-four first prizes. The "Coppi" and the "Witterugge" were considered together with the "aware" of Desmet-Matthijs as the best middle distance pigeons that had flown up to that point in Belgium. Michel Nachtergaele was the offspring of the hen and the "Coppi" and "Witterugge" for years until well into the '50s into an absolute peak impact in Belgium. Since he had only a manageable stock, went into the next ten to fifteen years, almost all of his pigeons back to this Stammtäubin Theo Gilbert. This proves to me the present catalog of a young pigeon auction, Nachtergaele 1956 in Kortrijk held.

But Nachtergaele benefited not only one of these pigeons. A Belgian named Georges Busschaert had daughters and sons of the "Coppi" and "Witterugge" and the "Fijne" a direct son of the Gilbert-hen Nachtergaele. These pigeons Busschaert moved for professional reasons over to Kent in the UK and founded the most successful and popular hit that it has been in the UK ever. Alan Wheeldon even writes that there is not a single breeder in Great Britain, at least not once Buschaert pigeons would have been on the beat.

The "Oude Zwarte" by Theo Gilbert brought another female another daughter who would become famous: the "Frulle", an "enormously big, broad, flat, built impressive duck, but without the weight." It was dark, had some white feathers in the corners of his eyes and had brown-dark eyes. It was described by Piet de Weerd (
Prof. Alfons Anker "The art of breeding," p.258). She had the ring number B-38-3363097, and was coupled to the "Oude rusting. From this mating was then the said "clear" with the ring number B-46-3,060,539th He success in six years, only 64 prizes in 66 missions, but was placed 52 times in the first tenth of the pigeons, in the first 19 times and won 489 499 percent Belgian francs in prize money.

But as a breeding bird was the "clear" even better. And so could Valère Desmet found him based on a pigeon strain, which under the name "Desmet Mathys," should be world famous. But the mother was aware of, by far not the only Dove Theo Gilbert, Desmet to the formation of his race began. According to Jules Gallez (
"The history of Belgian racing pigeon Part I", S.309 ff ) were also "Duivin gratings" those who "Gilbert Duivin with No. B-45-234258, the father of Witoog directly from Gilbert, and a bird was imported by Gentil Rijsman also a "half-Gilbert. Whether on the five pigeons Gilbert Gilbert, further pigeons were involved in the structure of the tribe of Desmet Mathys, my sources give her no, but that Valére Desmet these pigeons has partly multiple anchored in the main building through targeted breeding. Had it been the 70's and Theo Gilbert would have been so popular, just like the Janssen brothers, I would take almost that the root of Valere Desmet would probably rather not get the name "Desmet Mathys," but full of pride as a branch impact of Theo Gilbert would have been called. But Theo Gilbert was a small and apparently very modest breeder who attached no importance to publicity.

Well, not only the direct children of the Oude Zwarte Theo Gilbert affected the pigeon sport sustainable. His pigeons were also involved in the following decades in the development of national-caliber shots in Belgium. The mid-50s well into the 70s, the brothers Debaene Nokere from their successes world-famous. Her doves took to the main line of the clear-Desmet Mathys and numerous pigeons imported from Theo Gilbert back (
Victor Vansalen "To breed champions," p. 125 ).

traveled in Waregem Jozef Verheyen years the highest level. His impact was due to the pigeons by Theo Gilbert. He described himself in the whole prospectus Theo Gilbert's impact as a branch of Theo Gilbert, to whom he owed his success. Finally, attention

made in the 80s again three direct Theo Gilbert pigeons to:
The "Rapido" was first provinzale Ace Pigeon Fond in East Flanders with the record-coefficient of 0.59% and three first Price from Tours, his full brother of 'Panther' (it, this is the aforementioned "Oude Panter v. 81) to win twice a 1st From Orleans to provincial level and another full brother of "Cupid" makes out to be very good breeding bird at Raoul and Xavier Verstraete a name. The "Rapido" and "Panther" was bought by Verstraete and they should be deaf to their master stroke in that time. But not only these pigeons Verstraete provided in the 80's and early 90's through the achievement of many national honors for attention. In the Netherlands, for example with the named NL-89-2729024 "Euro Star" (
obviously a popular name ) a bird with Verstraete-record score of the first National Ace Pigeon Middle Distance. And this bird is a grandson of the "Rapido" was.

Alfons Slaets had a descendant of the "Oude Panter v. 81. And this bird won Vercammen compared directly against pigeons from Jos. This created a little otherwise, was thus Jos Vercammen clear, had to buy what he dove to reinforce themselves: just this' Panther 86 "just by Alfonso Slaets. He also bought other descendants of the "Oude Panther" and the "Rapido" directly Verstraete and built it up to its national day at the top in Belgium traveling colony. The most recent example of this performance is the achievement of the 1 and 2 National Award 2009 at the prestigious Flight of the whole of Belgium: The national air Bourges. Their pigeons were the two fastest against 64,621 pigeons. In the pedigree of the father of the nation emerged winner of the "Panther" and four times in the pedigree of 2.national appears the "Panther" on as many as five times.

Michel Nachtergaele, Georges Busschaert, Desmet Mathys, Gebr Deba, Jef Verheyen, Alfons Slaets, R. and X. Verstraete, Jos Vercammen and his own success, what do you think, dear reader: I have exaggerated in the opening paragraph, which relates to the performance and exercise control of the pigeons by Theo Gilbert? I think not.

In the second part, I'll try the Zuchstrategie Theo Gilbert to get on the track.
